Terence Flanagan was elected to the 30th Dáil on the 24th May 2007. He was appointed spokesperson on Housing in October 2007. Terence worked as a Councillor for four years before been elected to Dáil Éireann.

Terence was co-opted to Dublin City Council in October 2003 to replace Deputy Richard Bruton. He was elected to Dublin City Council to represent the Artane Ward on the first count with 2,600 first preference votes in May 2004.

Terence was educated in St. Davids B.N.S and Chanel College, Malahide Road, Dublin. He studied Accounting and Business in Dublin Business School and qualified as an Accountant. Before taking up his appointment to the Dáil, Terence worked for many years in the Banking industry.
